Det New York baserede Orchestra of Our Time udsender call for scores til komponister fra hele verden. Budet går på at skrive et stykke kammermusik for op til 5 instrumenter og af maksimalt 5 minutters varighed. 5-10 værker vil blive udvalgt til opførelse i maj 2011. Deadline er 31. december 2010.
Værkerne må være for enhver kombination af 5 instrumenter inden for besætningen strygekvartet, kontrabas, trompet, klarinet, obo, to perkussionister, piano, fløjte, fagot, trombone og elektronik.
Det koster 25$ pr. komposition at deltage i konkurrencen.

Composers are invited to submit a work for chamber ensemble (any combination of instruments from a solo piece up to a maximum of 5 instruments consisting of string quartet, contra bass, trumpet, clarinet, oboe, two percussionists, piano, flute, bassoon, trombone and electronics.
Submitted pieces may be up to 5 minutes. The scores will be adjudicated by a professional composer/performer panel. The criteria for the selections are based on innovation, imagination, and originality with preference for scores that have not been premiered. This call for scores is open to composers of any age or nationality and all musical genres.
The deadline is December 31, 2010. The decision will be posted on the Orchestra of our Time website by Jan. 30, 2011. The readings will take place in March, 2011. Composers whose works we will be reading may attend the reading session.
5-10 scores from the readings will be selected for a performance in May 2011. Composers whose works we will be performing in May will be invited to attend.

A non-refundable registration/processing fee of $25 per composition must accompany all submissions. Please make out your check or money order payable to “NYFA for Orchestra of Our Time”. All checks must be payable through a US bank.

Submission material should include:
a) Copy of your score. No parts necessary until decisions are made.
b) MIDI recording, if available (optional).
b) A short paragraph that explains your piece (optional).
c) If you need your scores to be returned, please include a self addressed stamped envelope. Please indicate whether or not you would like comments from the panel on your returned score.
d) Your name, address, email address and phone number (we will not share this information with other organizations.)
e) A check for $25 made payable to NYFA for OOT.
Orchestra of Our Time is a sponsored organization of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). NYFA is a 501 (c)(3), tax-exempt organization founded in 1966 to work with the arts community throughout New York State and the United States to develop and facilitate programs in all disciplines. NYFA will receive monies on behalf of Orchestra of Our Time.
