SPOR 2010: 5 selected proposals

More than 40 proposals were submitted to SPORs ’Call for Proposals’. Composers and artists from all over the world – Japan, Turkey, Chile, Latvia, Spain a.o. – have send in ideas for sound installations, music theatre, ensemble pieces and electronic performances.

The 5 jury members (Joanna Bailie, Simon Steen-Andersen, Lars Petter-Hagen, Sarah Nicolls and Carsten Seiffarth) have now selected the 5 proposals that will be realized and presented at SPOR festival 2010. These are:

’Shouting’, a concept with a social dimension for an acoustic intervention in a crowded public space, by David Helbich (UK)

’RETINAn’, a performance for piano, live video and electronics, by Kasia Glowicka (PL) & Emmanuel Flores Elías (MX)

‘Paganini non ripete’, a music theatrical piece performed by the artist himself, by Kaj Aune (DK/NO)

A performance piece for ensemble and the two artists where the ideas of magic, chaos, notation and performance will be explored, by Páll Ivan Pálsson (IS) & Monika Frycová (CZ)

’SubAqua’, a public site-specific sound installation, by Åsa Stjerne (SE)

SPOR 2010 will take place May 6-9 in Aarhus, Denmark and Joanna Bailie is guest curator.
